A little about me...

Hi, my name is Dean Oliver and I am the Founder and CEO of RiverStones Media.  After spending most of my career in vocational ministry and nonprofit leadership, I stumbled into the role of helping people buy and sell businesses and to my surprise found that I really enjoyed working with business owners.

But with very few exceptions, most of the business owners I worked with had a common pain point: online marketing and content creation.  To a person, they knew it was important for their business to be more active and present online.  But they either didn't have the time, know-how, or budget to do it.

So that's why I started RiverStones Media.  I wanted to help business owners solve their online content challenges in a creative, timely and affordable way.

That mission is even reflected in the name I chose for this company.  When I was a kid, I loved wading in and crossing rivers in the mountains.  To get from one side of a river to the other side, you have to pick out a route of exposed stones and hop from one to the other until you got to the other side of the river (hopefully, but not always, dry!)

Those memories are so fond that I chose RiverStones to remind me and my team that we're helping business find a "stone route" from one side of the river to the other.  And if there's anything better than stone-hopping a river, it's having a friend with you as you go.

We want to be that friend to business owners.  We want the thrill and satisfaction of helping business owners get to where they want to go in business.  Because the celebration on the other side always involves laughter and a few new stories to tell.
